I’m Sarah Lloyd, a registered member of the Professional Standards Authority and the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
With a background as an NHS Specialist Physiotherapist, managing a large team of trauma therapists, I learned that the biggest constraints to physical recovery and wellness were held unconsciously in a client’s heart and mind. I discovered that working with the person’s beliefs and expectations produced the best outcomes for the individual.
I discovered that when a person understands that they are safe, supported and have survived challenging difficulties, it is possible to bring them out of rigid survival mode and reconnect them with their present resources and strengths.
I gained a B.A (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and started counselling clients in 2006. Initially dividing my time between Physiotherapy and Counselling, I transitioned to working full-time in Psychotherapy in 2014 after further training in Internal Family Systems Therapy.
I trained in Trauma Integrating Flow Therapy (TIFT) developed by Dr Anandi Janner Steffan (2022) and find that it works powerfully without having to relive past trauma. I find that with clients who have survived complex trauma it brings more rapid progress, is gentler and produces more global shifts and changes in self compassion, self-care and greater functioning that any other modality I have worked with.
